Recently, ransomware has been a hot topic, with high-profile attacks on institutions such as Royal Mail bringing wider attention to this ongoing threat. However, ransomware has been a threat for a considerable period of time. Indications are that the ransomware threat is continuing to grow as significant financial incentives, and the ease of access into the ransomware as a service model provides an attractive proposal to cyber criminals.

In light of this, OCSIA has published its Ransomware Threat Focus. This report will provide an overview of current ransomware threats and threat actors, but as with any threat in cybersecurity, the space is constantly evolving, and it is best to continue to stay up to date by periodically reviewing a variety of sources.

This document was initially released to our mailing list subscribers on March 3. If you wish to be the first to view future threat reports, focuses, advisories, and event news, sign up here.
