The National Cyber Security Strategy highlights some key objectives we are committed to delivering, which include:

  • Providing practical, targeted and regular awareness communications across different parts of society.
  • Increasing efforts to educate the cyber-vulnerable members of society, such as the elderly and children, to reduce and prevent victimisation.
  • Maximising communication of threats and issues to improve understanding and awareness of the cyber-threats and vulnerabilities impacting society.

To achieve these objectives, effective external communications are essential and we have constantly considered how best to spread the key messages to as many stakeholders as possible. As the volume of resources, social media posts, and guidance published by OCSIA increases, it has become evident that clarity over the OCSIA 'brand' has become a challenge.

In light of this, the Office of Cyber-Security and Information Assurance (OCSIA) formally launched its new public-facing brand, the Cyber Security Centre for the Isle of Man (CSC) at CYBERISLE 2023. The CSC has been created to better reflect the work that the office does outside of government, and to provide a more accessible platform for the public to access information and resources on cyber security.

The CSC will continue to provide a range of services to individuals, businesses, and government agencies. These services will include cyber security advice and awareness programs, incident response planning and support, and vulnerability assessments. The CSC will also act as a central hub for sharing information on cyber threats and trends, and will collaborate with other organisations and government agencies to develop and implement best practices in cyber security.

Internally within Government, we will continue to operate under the OCSIA name and our focus on the Information Assurance Programme will remain the same.

This title reflects our role in the public domain and represents a modern, innovative, and clear vision for securing the digital resilience of the Isle of Man.

The use of the Cyber Security Centre - CSC- for the Isle of Man title brings us in line with other jurisdictions, whose respective cyber security centres are highly regarded and well known by the public they serve.

As an ongoing process, you may notice some changes as we continually allocate the public facing functions of OCSIA to the CSC brand.
