The first talks for CYBERISLE 2022 have been revealed. As the Isle of Man's premier cyber-security conference edges closer.

As part of this year's CYBERISLE, the main stage will be accompanied by a breakout room, where in-depth exploration of specialist topics will accompany the informative and engaging high-level talks hosted in the Riela Cyber Main Hall.

Welcome to the Matrix: Red vs. Blue Pill Cyber Security?

Welcome to the Matrix, where we will be showcasing the strategies used by both cyber security ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ teams. We will be exploring the Red Team tactics typically used to open up and exploit company networks, alongside the Blue Team techniques to mitigate these attacks across a range of different company sizes. Which pill, or team, will you choose?

Lee Wangenheim and Kurt Schrauwen, Riela Cyber

Bringing an extensive background in identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities, Lee Wangenheim leads Riela’s Red Team operations for our UHNW clients. Lee is a highly experienced and accomplished security researcher with over a decade of industry experience. He has a diverse background in the cyber security field, having worked as a penetration tester, developer, and application security engineer.

Kurt Schrauwen leads Riela’s technical sales and strategy for our UHNW clients. Kurt brings more than 20 years of leadership experience to team Riela having been an early part of the global success of Microgaming in becoming a market leader.

Drawing from diverse perspectives and real-world scenarios, we'll uncover the limitations of punitive measures and shed light on innovative strategies that prioritise education, proactive prevention, and collaboration among employees.

Dave Cartwright, CISO and Head of IT Risk and Operations at Santander International 

Lincolnshire-born and Norwich-educated Dave has lived and worked in Jersey since 2009. Previously a network and telecoms specialist, his focus is now IT risk and cyber security, most recently in the banking industry as CISO at Santander International. He is Chair of the Channel Islands Information Security Forum and the Jersey branch of the British Computer Society; he's also a member of the BCS Branches Finance Committee and chair of a Jersey youth charity.

Keeping an AI open for opportunistic attacks

The talk will be about an extortion attempt at a financial institution, where threat actors claimed to have hacked the financial institution and stolen their customer database. The talk will focus on the case study and how AI was used to investigate and solve the mystery.

Peter Allwright, Head of Suntera Forensics

Peter is Head of Suntera Forensics and focuses on preventing, detecting and investigating perpetrators of white-collar crime. He has extensive experience investigating common forms of business crime, including fraud, bribery, corruption, money laundering, theft and tax evasion. He regularly leads crisis management situations by working together with specialized professionals and taking care of coordinating the key aspects of resolving the crisis and protecting Suntera client’s position

 

 

 

CYBERISLE Networking Dinner

Located at the Comis Hotel, this dinner is the perfect opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals in the cybersecurity industry.

Indulge in a mouth-watering meal while engaging in informal conversations about the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the cyber world. Whether you're a seasoned expert or just starting out, this event offers a relaxed environment to expand your network and gain valuable insights.

A Three-course meal with wine, will complement presentations by Martin Smith MBE of The Security Awareness Special Interest Group (SASIG) and a representative from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

The dress code for the dinner is business attire, with individual tickets or tables of 10 available for purchase. Welcome glasses of prosecco and orange juice will be served with the meal starting at 7:30pm.
